Hi-Y
Join this civic club for high school students. Make a difference
in your community by joining with teens from all Harrison
County high schools and middle schools. Learn about leadership,
government and community responsibility while having fun and
being a part of a county-wide youth group.

Introduction to Kayaking
This program is designed for individuals with little to no
kayaking experience. Learn the basics of kayaking with special
emphasis on stroke technique, boat control and the Eskimo
roll. By the end of this program the student should be comfortable
in a kayak and have a basic knowledge of the skills required
to confidently progress to open water training.
Students age 12 years and up are welcome. All participants
should be comfortable with basic swim skills. Bring a bathing
suit, towel, and, if available, kayak or kayaking equipment.

Karate
All levels of Chi-Do-Kwan Freestyle Karate are taught at the
YMCA. The Introductory students (ages 6-8) learn the basic
stances, blocks and kicks used in the ancient art form. The
class helps develop concentration, coordination and agility.
The Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced Class (ages 9 & up)
continues skill development while learning basic Kata, Free-Sparring
and Self Defense Techniques.

Lifeguard Certification
Classes begin the first Friday of each month
and run the entire month.. Classes are scheduled for January,
February, March, April, and May. You must attend all scheduled
classes to complete your certification. CPR and First Aid
are included in the fee. Age requirement: 16 by the end of
your training month.
Members: $165 Non-members: $200

Masters Swimming
Masters Swimming at the YMCA is anything from occasional lap
swimming to participating at local, regional, and national
meets. If you are looking for someone to workout with, you
can usually find us at noon on weekdays and from 8-9 a.m.
on Saturdays. We are a member of the Allegheny Masters YMCA,
and are open for Y members 18 and over and not associated

Summer Tune-up (Session III
Only)
Get a head start on your summer league work out. The YMCA
swim coaches can help shape you up for the summer season.
Requirement: Previous summer league swimmer in any local pool
